How to survive camping with a toddler

Taking a child that has grown up with a roof over his head and a bed under his backside into the woods can be quite a shock. That's why making it as familiar as possible is the best thing you can do. As I mentioned before we allowed Charlie to bring along his favorite toy, his firetruck. We also went to a familiar place. You will probably need a cooler to keep most of your food in. A pop-up is small, compact and easy to tow and park, but lacks space for living. The furniture actually makes into a sleeping area. These are great if you plan to stay outside most of the time and just sleep in the pop up camper. You have to be careful what you pack inside your pop up, because the top does let down and everything has to be stored below a certain level so there is room for the latches to be secured. There are advantages over a tent, but disadvantages for packing. If you have a travel trailer, then RV camping is easy.

You can put anything you want in it and there are cabinet spaces everywhere. You can find places to put stuff and stuff to put in places. With the spacious storage areas accessible from outside the camper, you can store tons of stuff. All the cabinet doors have a special lock hook, keeping the doors from opening when traveling. Most things you will need can be easily hidden out of sight. I have a board hanging just inside my door that is half bulletin board and half dry erase. This is the handiest thing to have. You can pin up things you need to keep up with and write down things you need to remember.
