Pittsburgh holds rally for Hines Ward's dancing win
There was no Super Bowl parade in Pittsburgh this year, but there will be a rally for Hines Ward ’s victory on a reality TV show.
The rally will honor Ward’s victory in “Dancing with the Stars” will be held in front of the City-County building. Both Ward and his dancing partner will attend, and fans are encouraged to wear black and gold and bring terrible towels.
The information above is not an excerpt from an Onion Sports article.
“City residents and the Steelers Nation have contacted my office asking for the city to properly thank our hometown hero for once-again shining the spotlight on Pittsburgh,” Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Oh, go jump. And an extra go jump on Boston’s behalf, too. Pittsburgh would have thrown that rally for Hines even if the Steelers had won the Super Bowl. Steeler Nation celebrates its players and cheers their accomplishments. That’s a difficult dance competition, as you’d know if you boys weren’t so busy telling everyone you don’t watch because you’re afraid they’ll revoke your man card. CONGRATS, HINES!! GO STEELERS!! Dude, Boston LOVED Bourque. We were so happy for him to get what he deserved. Not only that, but we also DESPISED Jeremy Jacobs and his ownership and management policies at the time, so we understood Bourque’s position (watching the team’s leading scorers leave season after season gets to be a bit draining. Hell, Dave Andreychuk was leading the team in goals at the time of the trade and was traded with Bourque). And he also was traded to Colorado. Not New York or Montreal. If Dan Marino or Barry Sanders had been traded to a completely innocuous team in the opposite conference, you think Dolphin or Lions fans wouldn’t be cheering like crazy for that team? Oh, please, Hines has two Super Bowl Rings and was an MVP of one… The Steelers Have 6 SuperBowls and have been to 8 Super Bowls..Lets not act like they are some scrub organization that is looking for a consilation prize.. They just so happen to love their athletes and Support them!! There is Nothing else going on…they can go to minicamps or OTA’s so why Not have a celebration for Hines’ dancing With The Stars Victory!!! Sounds Like alot of People Are Jealous of the Steelers!!! @diz17 … Yes, I’m sure it will bankrupt Pittsburgh for citizens to show up in front of city hall in black and gold to meet Hines and his dance partner. So where did you get that economics degree?

Mr Henderson, from Drayton, said he took up Irish dancing aged 14 after watching Riverdance and Lord of the Dance on TV. He went on to study at a dance college in London and said he hoped it was not too late to make it as a professional.
Remember when Ren McCormack went before the city council to convince them to let the seniors have a prom, and he quoted all those bible verses that were in favor of dancing, which totally OWNED and eventually convinced Reverend Moore to let Ariel be

Frederick Nietzsche is famous for his audacious proclamation “God is Dead”. Interestingly, the German philosopher did say something further, albeit in jest. Walter Kaufman translates Nietzsche’s quip - “I should believe only in a God who understood how to dance.” Clearly, the philosopher had a particular picture of God in his mind’s eye. Nowadays I use the word ‘God’ with great caution, not knowing exactly what kind images it conjures up. As one philosopher noted, “if God had a house on earth, people would probably break his windows.”
Maybe Nietzsche thought of God as a ruthless judge; the grim old man who sits on a high chair and hurls down thunderbolts every time someone deviates. Maybe he thought of God as an ego-maniac; the attention seeker who needs to be at the centre of everything, harboring a deep fear that someone somewhere is having a good time without him. Maybe he thought of God as an emotionless and irrelevant energy, disinterested in the people and devoid of reciprocal relationships. Maybe he thought of God as a mythological creation of the power hungry elite, used to keep the masses in line and maintain the status quo.
Ancient Sanskrit texts describe Krishna as “Raso vai sah” – the very embodiment of affectionate relationships, loving relish, and transcendental sweetness. I was just in Vrindavana, the place which is famous for its sacred spots where Krishna danced with His most confidential devotees in the dead of the night. Now I am in Mayapur, West Bengal, the ancient town where Krishna advented himself 500 years ago as Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Caitanya was renowned as nataraja, the “great dancer” who loudly chanted and danced through the streets in spontaneous unbounded spiritual love. The extraordinary revelation is that God is a person who is full of color, character and bliss. He knows how to have a good time, and is much more interested in relishing the sweetness of love, than the regulated worship of those who approach Him in awe and reverence.
Well said, Devin. The way I always understood this saying is that God died in our hearts, because we became so much absorbed with the material world and therefore forgot our natural spiritual state and our relationship with the Supreme. Nietszche was not stupid. How can God die? God by definition is eternal and therefore cannot die like an ordinary human being. God either exists or does not exist. If He does not exist, how can he "die"??? If Nietsczhe were an atheist he would simply have said "there is no God". But by saying "God is dead" he just expressed his regret that God is no longer present in our lives (i.e. He is "dead" for us). So basically, by this famous saying Nietszche told one of me most profound Vedic truths about this material world...
