O'Brien Truckers line of nostalgic air purifiers now includes cast aluminum that turn, the style wing, in 14 -, 9 -, and 6 7/16-inch diameter. This is very reminiscent of old Cal cleaners air personalized style of the '50s and '60s, except with heavier, more traditional fins, you can paint as shown (supplied unpainted). The air filter 14 inch comes with a sheet metal base and 9-inch comes with a cast aluminum base. Both applications are for a four-barrel with a 5 1/8-inch opening.Thumb 6 7 / 16 is available with five different cast aluminum bases to accommodate a 5/16-inch diameter of 2 1-BBL, 2 5/8- and 3 1/8-inch 2-BBL, and 4 7 / 32 - and 5 1/8-inch neck carburetor 4-barrel. Because it's one of the smallest air purifiers to four bodies found anywhere, it reveals the extra-tight applications Quad. Most of the AMC, Chrysler, Ford, and pre-'74 GM vehicles are equipped with power cables OE ignition resistance. Pertronix Ignitor II and III ignition systems require a connection between the full power 12V ignition coil terminal and the positive, which requires bypassing the ballast resistor or resistance wire, and in many cases, the wire original strength is buried inside the vehicle wiring harness. Adding a power relay Pertronix eliminate dig through the wiring harness son and successor.
Pertronix Ignitor II
Ok, The manual that came with it said it can be wired one of 2 ways, it had what is listed online as #1 and #3. I did wire it as wiring #3 and it did not/doesn't work. As far as ground Pertronix said the plate that they provide has to have good ground so I did run a ground from the ground bolt the battery hooks to on the engine to the plate inside the distributor. Still no go. Pertronix said to try bringing power directly from the battery to the + cable of the Ignitor also, still no go. I got it from Amazon and they are sending me a replacment, but I was just trying to figure out what had went wrong. In looking at everything I think it didn't have good ground. One other thing I asked them about, is the car has a MSD Blaster II for the coil, they said that is fine with the Ignitor II but the regular Ignitor can't run with that coil. Hook it up like number 3 figure...turn the key on and measure the voltage at the ballast resisitor and at the coil + you better have 12 plus volts...you need the ground at the distributor for their module to work...the blaster coil is fine..when it is hit by the negative coming out of the distributor it fires the coil and sends the voltage to distributor rotor and then out to the correct spark plug wire..my distributor is the same weapon...the ECU box fires the coil through the distributor I will check Volts at each and see what it is showing. Glad I at least did have it wired right. I am also wondering if my coil may have went out, I may get a stock coil and try just to make sure the coil is still good. It acts like it is never firing the coil/coil is not working. Now If I remember right the coil is only getting like 9 volts dc in the run setting, but it is wired to get the full 12 during start up/cranking, I will double check this. It is wired as the #3 shows. I will check Volts at each and see what it is showing. Glad I at least did have it wired right. I am also wondering if my coil may have went out, I may get a stock coil and try just to make sure the coil is still good. It acts like it is never firing the coil/coil is not working. It is wired as the #3 shows. After checking these voltages I ran power right from b+ (12.24 Volts) to the coil and also to the power for the Ignitor and still no fire when trying to start it.
