Microsoft zündet den Nachbrenner für SkyDrive

Wer in Microsofts Online-Speicher SkyDrive gespeicherte Fotos anklickt, könnte sich über das ungewohnte Tempo wundern, mit dem der Webdienst diese Inhalte neuerdings ins Browserfenster befördert. Wie in einem Blogbeitrag verkündet, verwenden die Server hinter dem Dienst ab sofort den Webstandard HTML5 sowie die Stylesheet-Syntax CSS3. Laut Microsofts Projektmanager Omar Shahine verkürzen sich die Antwortzeiten damit von vormals bis zu 9 Sekunden auf nunmehr 100 bis 300 Millisekunden.

Nach eigenen Tests mit dem Internet Explorer 8 und Opera 11 unter Windows 7 sowie Firefox 3.6 unter Linux können wir die Geschwindigkeitssteigerungen bestätigen. Und das, obwohl der Internet Explorer 8 die neue HTML-Variante scheinbar nur sehr lückenhaft unterstützt und laut der Testsuite HTML5Test nur bescheidene 32 von 400 erreichbaren Punkten erzielt.

Als weitere Neuerung setzt SkyDrive zudem auf CSS3-Stylesheets und baut Thumbprints der abrufbaren Fotos mit dem maßgeblichen Höhe/Breite-Verhältnis in seine Übersichtsseite ein. Dabei bringt es die Bildchen so gut wie möglich auf der verfügbare Fläche unter. Wenn man die Abmessungen des Browserfensters verändert, passt sich das Arrangement der Thumbprints automatisch an.

Anfang Juni hatte Microsoft SkyDrive außerdem um die Fähigkeit erweitert, ohne Bedarf an zusätzlich installierbaren Browsererweiterungen auch mit hochgeladenen Videos umzugehen und Fotos etwa von einem Windows-Smartphone aus per E-Mail sowie Instant Messenger zu veröffentlichen. Auf Android-Smartphones machen sich die beschriebenen Neuerungen nicht bemerkbar; auf dem iPhone ist SkyDrive nach wie vor nicht nutzbar.

Note: Practically all Spyware and Hijackers tend to target ‘Internet Explorer’ and not other browsers. If you don’t mind switching your browser, then you should switch and immediately greatly reduce your risk of infecting your computer. I would recommend… Mozilla Firefox.

i use kaspersky and it’s the best i’ve used so far. i tried avg before but it’s just crap and just takes up precious memory and disk space.

but i think the most important of all is common sense and some basic computer knowledge. you might not even need an antivirus or such things if you’re pretty knowledgeable with computer stuff.

Try a online antivirus scanner and a online anti-adware/malware/spyware scanner in safe mode with network to clean up your computer BEFORE you download anything. This because the program you download can get infected.

Disable “System Restore” for Windows Me and XP, then restart your PC to clean your system restore points for viruses, spyware, adware etc.
